Wall Street Memories
There’s an old saying that describes Wall Street as: “a river on one side and a cemetery on the other”. The cemetery is right next to Trinity Church. Back in 1981 when I took this photograph, the steeple of Trinity Church was caked with multiple layers of black soot that had accumulated over many years. Several years later after I took this photograph, they blasted the soot off the steeple and restored it to its original condition. The original color is a reddish/rose color with intricate details. The building in the background is the North Tower of the World Trade Center destroyed on 9/11. Wall Street, NYC. October 1981.
