Ribbons of Krill
It was early in the evening and it was feeding time for the humpback whales. The whales work together circling a school of krill so they can "sound" (surface dive) and feed on the krill they have corralled. The angle of the setting sun has created teardrops of highlights in the water and the krill are illuminated in a curvy trail of ribbons. Errera Channel, Antarctica. February 2013.
