Memorial Waterfall
At The World Trade Center Memorial, two identical 1-acre pools with the largest man-made waterfalls in the United States, were built around the original footprints of the Twin Towers. The waterfall pictured here is part of the structure built around the footprint of the South Tower. The water cascades down and gently flows into the dark, square abyss, symbolizing the loss of life and the physical void left by the attacks on the tragic day of September 11, 2001.
