Beach Breeze
I took this photograph when I was on break during my senior year at college. Syracuse, New York is known for its harsh winters. It can average 140 inches of snow in a season and only a few hours of sunshine in a period of a week; thus the nickname "Siberia-cuse". My parents were living in Bal Harbour, Florida at the time, so I escaped the cold in the North and headed South to the warm weather. Bal Harbour has a beautiful, white sandy beach. The warmth of the late afternoon sun, the refreshing breeze off the ocean and the sound of the gentle waves is an inviting place to lay down a towel and take a nap. Bal Harbour, Florida. January 1980.
